The Art of Layering Fragrance
Layering is the quiet luxury of perfumery — the practice of wearing two or more fragrances together to create something no single bottle can offer. Done well, it turns a scent into a signature.
Begin with a base. A warm, woody fragrance like Mysore Sandal or Oudh Noir gives depth and longevity. Apply it first, to moisturised skin, and let it settle for a moment.
Then add brightness. A floral or citrus note — Rose Taif, perhaps, or Vetiver Malabar — lifts the base and adds movement. The trick is restraint: one or two sprays of the lighter scent is plenty.
Finally, trust your nose. Layering is personal. The most memorable combinations are rarely the obvious ones.
